Info
- The M18 Hellcat is an alternative unit introduced in Tales of Valor. It can be chosen to swap in place with the M10 Wolverine.
- The M18 Hellcat has less penetration than the M10 Wolverine, but is able to camouflage for a first strike bonus, as well as gain an MG add-on for 50 munitions. The Hellcat's penetration modifiers at long/medium/short range are 0.4/0.55/0.65 compared to 0.84/0.92/1 for the Wolverine.
- The M18 Hellcat is also slower than the M10 Wolverine, having an acceleration of 1.5 (compared to 1.7), rotation rate of 35 (compared to 38), and a maximum speed of 6 (compared to 6.8).
- The Hellcat's M2HB MG upgrade is identical to the M2HB MG upgrade of other U.S vehicles.
- The Hellcat has a bug where it is completely undetectable to all units, including detectors. (2.600)
- The Hellcat suffers from a few number bugs where it has a higher veterancy requirement than the M10 Wolverine. Also, it's veterancy level 2 benefit, a weapon range increase, is an addition instead of multiplication, resulting in a much smaller bonus than intended. (2.600)
Tactics
- The M18 is used differently in that instead of a flanking or hit-and-run style the M10 Wolverine uses, the M18 is better off utilizing camouflage for a significant first-strike bonus. This means the Hellcat should be used more in style of an AT gun, where you want the enemy to walk into a camouflaged-ready shot.
- Since the MG add-on is identical to the MG upgrades for other U.S vehicles, and since the M18 Hellcat is mainly a tank destroyer, it is not recommended to purchase the upgrade unless there are extra munitions to spare.
